Our Instructors

Instructors represented here are "core instructors."  Additional instructors teach classes within their specialty.  Instructors may vary depending upon availability.  All instructors are certified to teach by the California BPPVE and have passed our students' seal of approval!

Dr. Kenneth Alpern, M.D.

Dr. Alpern is a board certified dermatologist and teaches at UCI.  His slide presentation of normal and abnormal skin conditions help massage students at Lincoln Institute identify problems which might be potentially dangerous to their clients or themselves as therapists.  Massage therapists see more skin than any other profession.  A well trained massage therapist could be someone's first defense against skin cancer or could potentially save a client's life.  Dr. Alpern says "Every massage therapist should know the ABC's of skin cancer and be prepared to refer cients to a dermatologist."

Lynn Armatoski, C.M.T.

Lynn began teaching massage in 1997.  She teaches Basic Circulatory Massage and aromatherapy at Lincoln Institute.  She is a stickler for proper body mechanics.  Lynn has been helping massage students bend their knees and keep their backs straight for over a decade!  Lynn practices the art of Feng Shui.  She loves plants and our plants love her!

Caj Brejtfus, C.M.T.

Caj owns the largest chain of massage therapy clinics west of the Mississippi.  He teaches Lincoln Institute students Marketing and Business Practices and shares a wealth of knowledge about local ordinances, operating businesses in multiple jurisdictions and provides insight and instruction into the professional and ethical practices of massage.  Students always enjoy his Q&A sessions.

Robin Collier, L.ac., Dipl. Ac., C.H. (NCCAOM)

Robin is a licensed acupuncturist and is nationally board certified.  She has a Master's Degree in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine and did her post graduate program in Classical Five Element Acupuncture which she practices full time.  She is also a practical examiner for the NCCAOM.  Robin is interested in a variety of healing modalities and has traveled to Peru and China to enrich her educational experience.  Robin teaches acupressure and eastern modalities at Lincoln Institute.

Barbara Sobel, C.M.T.

Barbara is a certified massage therapist as well as a certified aromatherapist.  Barb shares self-help remedies using therapeutic essential oils.  She teaches advanced massage techniques which help keep therapists interested in their field. Barbara loves to travel.  Ask her about Cairo or Beijing!

Our instructors work along side our students, helping and correcting their technique to prevent injury and promote proper body mechanics. At Lincoln Institute of Body Therapy there is no such thing as dumb question.
